The Longhorn Council’s annual Arlington Silver Eagle Dinner honors a distinguished citizen of the local community whose leadership, service, and commitment reflect the core values of Scouting. Each year, this gathering brings together community leaders, business partners, and supporters to celebrate an individual who exemplifies integrity, dedication, and a deep passion for strengthening our community. Proceeds from the dinner support local Scouting programs, helping cultivate the next generation of young leaders.
We are proud to recognize Matthew Loh with the 2026 Arlington Silver Eagle Award. Matthew, the youngest of the Loh family, graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1995 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has since become a strong leader in his community. Under his guidance, the Grand Prairie Chamber created the first Asian Business Division in North Texas, earning recognition in the 113th U.S. Congress and placement in the Congressional Record. He serves on the Business Advisory Board for Grand Prairie ISD, helping align real world workforce needs with Career Technical Education curriculum. Matthew also founded The LOH Foundation to provide support for families facing tragedy, offer scholarships, and meet community needs. His respect for his heritage is reflected in the events at Asia Time Square, where he intentionally incorporates global cultures and fosters not just tolerance but genuine appreciation, helping build a diverse and admired community.
