Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation:This 1.5-day course is designed as an introduction to the Cub Scout outdoor program for leaders interested in adding a camping component to their Pack activities. It is required for any Cub Scout den or pack outdoor event, including pack camping overnighters and Webelos den overnighters.
BALOO training is comprised of two components—an online component and a practical, hands-on component. The online component must be completed prior to the practical outdoor and classroom component. The online training contains introductory and basic information that will be built upon during the practical training. To take the online component, go to My.Scouting.org. One BALOO trained leader is required to be present on any Pack family camping overnight camping. With the exception of family camping at Council events, ALL Pack Family Camping requires one adult certified in BALOO. Camp Rangers cannot allow a Pack to camp without a BALOO certified leader onsite. The new BALOO combines the previous BALOO and a course called Outdoor Leader Skills for Webelos Leaders, or OWL. The training code for the new, hybrid BALOO is C32. |
