Early invitations are underway and the first promotional materials are visible. This week you increase the volume of outreach while confirming every detail of your school-based opportunities, so nothing is left to chance.
Welcome to Week 11 of our 2026 Longhorn Council Summer Recruitment Planning Series. This week focuses on stronger visibility efforts and final coordination with the schools and partners who will help you reach new families.
What to Do This Week (August 10–16)
1. Expand Social Media, Email, and Community Promotions
Increase posting frequency, send targeted messages to current families, and place additional yard signs or flyers in strategic locations.
2. Confirm All School Partnership Details for Scout Talks and Information Tables
Double-check dates, times, locations, setup requirements, and any background-check or approval needs with principals and PTA contacts.
3. Prepare a Simple Promotion Checklist for the Final Stretch
List every channel you will use in the coming days so the team can track progress and avoid last-minute gaps.
Tips for Success
- Consistency matters more than perfection. Regular, friendly posts that show real Scouts having fun outperform polished but infrequent messages.
- When confirming school details, ask one clear question at a time and follow up in writing so everyone has the same information.
- Coordinate with neighboring units when possible. Shared visibility efforts can increase reach without extra work.
- Keep a running list of every promotional item placed (yard signs, posters, digital posts) so the team can manage and retrieve materials easily.
By the End of August 16, You Should Have:

✅ All school partnership details confirmed for Scout Talks and information tables
✅ A final promotion checklist in place for the remaining recruitment push
Strong recruitment depends on consistent visibility and careful coordination. By increasing outreach now and confirming every detail of your school partnerships, your unit will be positioned to make the most of the final days before fall recruitment begins.
