The Longhorn Council’s annual Killeen Silver Eagle Luncheon honors a distinguished citizen of the local community whose leadership, service, and commitment reflect the core values of Scouting. Each year, this gathering brings together community leaders, business partners, and supporters to celebrate an individual who exemplifies integrity, dedication, and a deep passion for strengthening our community. Proceeds from the luncheon support local Scouting programs, helping cultivate the next generation of young leaders.
This year, we are proud to recognize State Representative Brad Buckley who is currently serving his fourth term in the Texas House of Representatives and represents House District 54, which contains half of Bell County including Fort Hood in Central Texas. He is the Chairman of the House Public Education committee and he also serves on the House Natural Resources Committee. A native of Bell County, Representative Buckley is a product of Killeen ISD schools and a graduate of Texas A&M University. Prior to serving in the Texas Legislature, he served on the school board for Killeen ISD and is a past Chair of the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce. Professionally, Representative Buckley is a veterinarian and Partner at Killeen Veterinary Clinic.
Brad is the proud husband of Dr. Susan Buckley, who is a career educator and is the proud father of Emily, Erin, and Bo, all of whom are also Aggies. The Buckleys are also grandparents to the best little cowboys in Texas, Leo and Cole.
