The mission of Longhorn Council International Scouting aligns with the overall mission of the World Scouting FKA World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), which is:
“To contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society.”
When we talk specifically about International Scouting, the mission focuses on:
- Promoting Global Citizenship. Encouraging Scouts to understand and respect cultural diversity, fostering friendship and peace across nations.
- Building a Better World Together. Supporting programs and initiatives that develop leadership, sustainability, and community service on an international scale.
- Facilitating Cultural Exchange and Cooperation. Creating opportunities such as World Scout Jamborees, international camps, and partnerships between National Scout Organizations to share ideas and experiences.
- Supporting Peace and Understanding. Living the principles of the Scout Promise and Law in a global context to reduce conflict and build harmony among different cultures and nations.
Essentially, International Scouting exists to connect Scouts worldwide, strengthening the sense of unity and common purpose across borders.
26th World Scout Jamboree in Poland
Our next World Scout Jamboree will take place from 30 July to 8 August 2027 in Gdańsk, Poland. We are excited to welcome young people and volunteers to this once-in-a-lifetime event.
Bravely is the motto of Jamboree inspires courage, collaboration, and engagement. This motto holds particular significance in Poland, especially in Gdańsk, a city renowned for its association with the historic Solidarity movement. In Gdańsk, let’s be inspired to make a change and take action for our environment!
The 27th World Scout Jamboree will be hosted by The Danish Scout Council in Denmark in 2031.
