The Longhorn Council’s Frontier Trails District invites you to participate as a sponsor for the 2027 Denton County Silver Eagle Award Reception, honoring a distinguished local citizen whose leadership, service, and commitment reflect the core values of Scouting. Community leaders, business partners, and supporters will gather to celebrate an individual who exemplifies integrity and dedication while supporting local Scouting programs that help develop the next generation of leaders. Last year, Captain Orlando Hinojosa of the Denton County Sheriff’s Office was honored at this event.
The Longhorn Council, Scouting America serves more than 10,000 youth and families across 23 counties in North and Central Texas, providing life-changing programs that develop character, leadership, citizenship, and outdoor skills. Through Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouting, Exploring, and ScoutReach, young people gain confidence, build lifelong friendships, and learn to make ethical decisions while serving their communities. Supported by dedicated volunteers, community partners, and generous donors, the Longhorn Council delivers year-round adventures, leadership development, and service opportunities that prepare the next generation to lead with integrity and make a positive impact on the world. Your support of the Investment in Character Community Reception directly invests in local youth, ensuring every young person has the opportunity to experience the values, leadership training, and life-changing adventures that Scouting provides while helping build the next generation of community leaders.
