Thirteen Year Old Boy Donates $100 To Help Scouts in Need
Longhorn Council’s Woodbine District, led by District Executive & Scoutreach Director, Wylma Lewis, is the recipient of a $100 donation from a youth. For his thirteenth birthday a boy named Jay decided there was no gift he wanted or needed. Instead, he asked his family to donate money to less fortunate local Scouts. He wrote a moving letter where he explains that he is blessed with everything he could ever want and wants to help others.
The $100 donation counts toward the Woodbine District’s “Friends Of Scouting” fundraising campaign. Every year our generous Scouters, parents, community leaders, and volunteers donate time and money to help fund the Longhorn Council operations. The FOS dollars raised stay local and are used to run our programs.
Thank you Jay for joining our donors who help make a positive difference in the lives of our local youth. Wylma Lewis works with local school districts to provide an affordable Scouting experience for our area’s youth. She is able to do this through FOS dollars raised by Woodbine District and the LHC Development team.
