Pre-requisite for Weekend Camping, Summer Merit Badges, and High Adventure Days
Effective Friday, July 3, 2020, please read: https://www.longhorncouncil.org/how-gov-abbotts-proclamation-affects-local-scouting/
Important Updates added on 6/19/2020
Quick notice about an important pre-requisite for the Longhorn Council’s Weekend Camping, Summer Merit Badges, and High Adventure Days.
On behalf of our LHC Director of Support Services and the LHC Camping Team:
“Be sure to have a conversation with your Charter Organization Partner when your unit is ready to resume camping. Units that are doing summer weekend camping or Summer Merit Badge Academy classes should bring a letter or email to camp affirming that their charter partner has approved them to start camping again. Units can also bring a statement similar to the one below, affirming that they have received an “OK” to camp from their charter partner:
“My charter partner is aware we are camping and has approved it.”
Who Can Make a Camping Reservation? Weekend camping reservations, Summer MBA classes, and High Adventure Days are now open for reservations by all units.
