Our Longhorn Times e-Newsletter is delivered the first and third Wednesday of every month. I sometimes send out more than those two e-newsletters when we have special updates. Going forward, I will also share our e-newsletters here on our Longhorn Council Website and other channels within 1 to 2 days to reach a wider audience. Let’s start with the July 15th e-Newsletter, the topics are shared below…

Due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 we have to adjust our meetings and most Scouting activities to be safe and to comply with state and CDC guidelines.
Here is the guidance we have at this time and a resource for coping.

Congratulations and HUGE thanks to our Santa Fe District Scouts and Cleburne partners for their ongoing effort to feed Johnson County residents. They have joined the local baseball team, the Cleburne Railroaders, and community partners to distribute food every week. The Home Plate Project has been a welcome relief to hundreds.
Our LHC Scouting units found a way to contribute and earn service hours while the baseball team’s front office has done a great job of coordinating this project. Mrs. Vu, our LHC Activities Chair, reminds our Scouting units to get these service hours logged.
Since this year’s Railroader baseball season is cancelled let’s hope they play next year and let’s go catch a game or two!
The 2020 Trailblazer District Camporee successfully wrapped-up recently. Our Scouts enjoyed the outdoors and followed all guidelines required. Thanks for all your work Scouters! Look for these Scouting units in their new districts in the near future. District Executives Tim Calkins and Ryan Hecker helped guide this last camporee under the Trailblazer name.
