Glenn Adams Earns NESA Distinguished Service Award

Congratulations to our very own Glenn Adams for earning the National Eagle Scout Association Distinguished Service Award.

The NESA Facebook page posted the following:

Eagle Scouts Named for Lifetime Achievement and Service

The National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) is recognizing eight servant leaders for distinguished achievements in support of NESA and Eagle Scouts. The NESA Distinguished Service Award (NESA-DSA) is presented to select adult Eagle Scouts who have given extraordinary lifetime leadership and service to NESA. It must have resulted in significant impact on a national or regional level. This year’s recipients include: a U.S. congressman-elect, a former Secretary of Defense, a current and a past national NESA President and others.
The recipients are:
* Glenn Adams, Ft. Worth, Texas;
* Rick Bragga, Richmond, Virginia;
* Ray Capp, Nashville, Tennessee;
* Dr. Robert Gates, Williamsburg, Virginia;
* The Honorable Pete Sessions, Waco, Texas;
* C. William Steele, Irving, Texas;
* Frank Tsuru, Houston, Texas; and,
* Joe Weingarten, Fishers, Indiana.
The awards will be presented at the Boy Scouts of America National Annual meeting in 2021.
Eagle Scouts truly make a difference in our world throughout their lives. During this pandemic of 2020, Eagle Scouts have provided over one million hours of service to their communities through Eagle Projects alone, not counting all the other service projects Scouting generally provides. Many of these Eagles still find ways to give back to the program that helped them learn how to serve and to lead.

We have shared this congratulatory post on our LHC FB page so we can celebrate this accomplishment with Glenn.

Our Longhorn Council Scouter’s work with NESA, Sea Base, and the Scouting movement was captured in an article by Bryan On Scouting published on May 25, 2016.  Read that article here:

That nice salute by NESA over four years ago highlights some of the important work Glenn does for the Scouting movement.  We are proud of his accomplishments and to call him a Longhorn Council Scouter.
