Texas Parks and Wildlife Angler Education Instructor Course


Attend this free two-part workshop to become a Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept. Angler Education Instructor. Also available at the BSA Certified Angling Instructor  course on March 13-15, 2020 at Sid Richardson Scout Ranch.

  • Session 1, January 15 at LHC Office.  6:00 PM to 8:30 PM
  • Session 2, January 22 at LHC Office  6:00 PM to 8:30 PM

This free two-part workshop is open to anyone 18 or older interested in teaching fishing skills in their communities.

Attendance is required on both dates, Jan. 15 and Jan. 22.

The program provides the curriculum, equipment (where available), materials and support to help volunteers successfully introduce youth and their families to fishing. Ideal for teachers, scout or youth group leaders, after school or camp staff and community volunteers. TEA-approved CPE credit is available for teachers. Participants should wear comfortable clothing for outdoor activities and bring a water bottle, preferably reusable. Attendance at both sessions is required for certification.

For new TPWD volunteers: click on the blue “Apply to become a volunteer” link at the bottom and follow the prompts to create a volunteer profile.

Please remember to authorize and complete the Criminal Background Check section. All fields must be completed including your date of birth and Driver’s License number.
For current TPWD volunteers: Enter your TPWD User ID and password and click on the blue “Log In” button
