Don Majka Celebrates Birthday with Silver Beaver & 65 Years of Scouting Service Awards

What do special Longhorn Council Scouters do when asked to attend an event where they will be recognized?  They find a way to give back to their community and share the positive impact that Scouting has had in their life.

This was the case on Thursday, October 15, 2020, with Don Majka getting recognized with the 65 Year Service to Scouting Award as well as the 2019 Silver Beaver Award at the Wise County FOS Ceremony.   The Silver Beaver Award was presented by Brock Smith,  accompanied by Angela Smith, both of whom are prior Silver Beaver Award recipients.  Angela also happens to be a Silver Antelope Award recipient so Don Majka was in fantastic company.

Brazos Valley District Executive, Tim Calkins added, “Our Longhorn Council Scouting family is proud that we could recognize Don Majka for his 2019 Silver Beaver and his 65 years of Scouting service on his birthday.”

Congratulations and Happy Birthday Don!

Due to the pandemic the 2019 LHC Silver Beaver Recipients as well as Distinguished Commissioner Service Awardees among others, will be recognized virtually on  December 1, 2020.  Details are still being finalized for this Longhorn Council Annual Recognition event so please save-the-date.
