COVID-19 Postponement, Cancellation, and Easy Refund Policies

COVID-19 Postponement, Cancellation, and Easy Refund Policies

The Longhorn Council cares deeply about the health and safety of all Scouts and their families. As we receive new guidance from our public health leaders we will update as necessary our event, camp, and training calendars and our recommendations to units.

May 16 Update: The Longhorn Council has made the difficult decision to NOT operate our summer RESIDENT camps and high adventure camps this summer at Camp Tahuaya, Worth Ranch, and Sid Richardson Scout Ranch.  This decision was made after a lengthy and difficult process of information gathering and discussion, with the main concern being for the safety of our Scouts, leaders and camp staff. Click here for the message from Scout Executive John Coyle regarding closure of 2020 summer resident camps.

We will continue to update as necessary our event, camp, and training calendars and our recommendations to units as we receive new guidance from our public health leaders. We will reopen unit camping reservations as soon as it is possible so that units to camping again and do their own programs. Some individual programs and equipment will be available for individual units camping on their own at Longhorn Council camps this summer.

The Council’s calendar changes and recommendations for events in March and April are posted at the link below.
