Congratulations recent Eagle Scout Ethan Johnson
We kickoff our look at recently-awarded Longhorn Council Eagle Scouts with Ethan Aaron Johnson. As you will read from his biography, he is already a role-model for younger and future Scouts alike.
Ethan is a member of Longhorn Council’s Troop 1225 and Ship 1225 out of Flower Mound, Texas. Ethan earned his Eagle Scout rank on Sept 24, 2019 along with earning two Bronze Palms, one Gold Palm and one Silver Palm. Let’s briefly translate the Eagle Palms: As per the current BSA National Eagle Palm requirements, “The Bronze Palm represents five merit badges, the Gold Palm 10, and the Silver Palm 15” beyond the rank of Eagle.
He is a Junior this Fall at Flower Mound High School where he is in the English Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, FMHS band and member of the Robotics Team. Ethan plans to major in Mechanical Engineering.
Ethan has served his troop in various leadership roles but what he has enjoyed the most was being the Order of the Arrow Representative, where he earned Brotherhood. He also served as First Vice Chief for his local OA chapter of the Netopalis Sipo Schipinachk Lodge. Ethan has attended the 2017 National Jamboree, Northern Tier and Sea Base High Adventure along with summer camps in Colorado, Arkansas and Texas. Ethan’s Eagle Scout project consisted of building an outdoor classroom for his former school, Old Settlers Elementary School. The project entailed leading a group of Scouting friends from three different troops to build seven benches to seat an entire classroom of students, a teachers bench, an easel, a podium, and a teacher supplies table. The entire school will have access to this classroom including the special needs classes. Ethan worked directly with the special needs therapists at OSE to develop this outdoor classroom to fit their needs.
Fantastic accomplishments and a bright future ahead for this Longhorn Council Eagle Scout. We know he will keep up the great work.
He enjoys support from family and service to Scouting and Longhorn Council actually runs in the family. Ethan’s mom, Yoli Johnson, has an impressive LHC resume herself; Training Chair, Advancement Chair, and Activities Committee.
We congratulate this recent Longhorn Council Eagle Scout, his family, friends, and Scouting units. Scout On!
