Philmont Scout Ranch
Where Scouts become Scouts
You hear it all the time, from folks who have been there: “Philmont made me a Scout for life.” Set amid rugged New Mexico terrain, there’s tons of space for Scouts and Venturers to get out and go at Philmont Scout Ranch. A 12-day trek just scratches the surface of the vast landscape. The 250 local horses offer plenty of chances to help feed, groom and learn. Keen-eyed Scouts may catch sight of elk, coyote, antelope, mountain lion, buffalo or bear. Philmont is 214 square miles of unfiltered Scouting, which turns wilderness into real-life experience and transforms kids into Scouts.
