Jamboree Participant Requirements

Jamboree Participant Requirements

NOTE on ADULTS: Following requests from a number of parent-youth pairs to attend the National Jamboree together, the National Jamboree Director has given the Longhorn Council Jamboree Committee permission to allow more adults to register. A Parent may register for a Jamboree Troop with their son or for a Jamboree Venture Crew with their son or daughter. Both the parent and their youth registrant must meet 2017 Jamboree requirements.

See youth requirements at www.bsajamboree.org.
BOY SCOUTS & VARSITY SCOUTS must be registered in a Troop, at least First Class, 12 years old by the 1st day of Jamboree (or an 11 year old graduate of 6th grade), & may not reach 18 by the last day of Jamboree.
VENTURERS must be registered in a Venturing crew.
ADULTS: a parent may now register with their youth to attend together. Adults must be approved by the Jamboree Committee to serve in one the four jamboree Scoutmaster roles. Parents must be registered with their unit and must complete Scoutmaster or Venturing Advisor leader-specific training. Camping experience is strongly recommended. The parent must be willing to volunteer at least half a day, either every day or on a rotating schedule, to assist the Jamboree Staff. Click here for the NEW adult requirements.
