Frontier Living History Program
Frontier History participants must be at least 13 years old.
U.S. Cavalry Company
Spend a week as a U.S. Cavalry soldier on the Texas frontier in 1872. You’ll learn cannon and carbine drills, skirmish drills, re-enactment shooting safety procedures, fire cannons and Cavalry carbines, cook authentic army food, and participate in reenactment battles. Click on the title or photo to see how the U.S. Cavalry program works.

All Frontier history participants should bring lots of warm clothing. Cavalry Soldiers need thermal underwear and insulating garments (polypro, wool, capilene, thermax, fleece, etc.) to wear under cavalry uniforms. All participants need sleeping bags/blankets, pillows, canteen, and camping gear, etc.
