Pre-registration by October 15 is strongly recommended to allow optimum campsite assignments and program supply adjustments. All participating Scouts, Varsity Scouts, Venturers and their leaders must register for the Camporee.

Register only those with firm commitments to attend. This is a "Rain or Shine" event. There are no refunds for reasons other than medical. Refunds for medical reasons must be made in writing.

A Participant Roster Form will be collected at check-in. Each unit participating will receive a print out of their unit roster prior to check-in. Leaders will mark through those Scouts and leaders names not participating and add those that are not on roster. This roster will be collected at the Camporee and not when the registration form is received.

Each registered participant will receive a commemorative "America's Future- Be Prepared" Camporee patch. Additional patches will be sold at the Camporee Trading Post.

Arrival / Check-in
All vehicles will be met at the main entrance for check-in. Attendance rosters, registration adjustments and directions to campsites will be provided at this time. Carpooling is encouraged to reduce the number of vehicles traveling to and through Camporee grounds.

Equipment vehicles may be driven to the District's designated campsite area. All vehicle passengers are asked to immediately park in the camporee lot and hike to the campsite. Equipment vehicles must be moved to the parking area immediately after unloading. One trailer may be left in the campsite if space permits.

First Aid
A first aid station with qualified emergency medical response personnel will be located near the
Headquarters area. All injuries must be reported to the First Aid station. In case of an emergency or medical need involving a child, an adult must accompany the Scout to and from the first aid station and hospital, if needed.

Each Troop must have a completed "Health History and Parent Authorization" form for each participating Scout and adult. Health Histories are to kept by the unit and taken to the first aid facility if treatment is needed. This information is critical and required if local hospital or emergency services become necessary.

Campsites / Gateways/ Patrol Flags
Each District will have a clearly marked, designated campsite area. District representatives will assign
campsites on a first-come, first served basis and according to unit size based on paid preregistration.

Campsite inspections - based on comfort and safety - will be conducted on Saturday. Units are encouraged to erect gateways, and display patrol flags marking the entrance to their campsites. Each District will recognize a unit for the best gateway and best patrol flag. The best gateway and patrol flag in Longhorn Council will be recognized Saturday night at the Camporee Show. Click here for Campsite Inspection Form.

Fire / Fuels
NO GROUND FIRES ARE ALLOWED. Charcoal, propane or liquid fuel stoves are permitted. Charcoal cooking requires a grill with a lid.

Review "The Guide to Safe Scouting" related to liquid fuels. Only adults are allowed to handle liquid
fuels, and all stoves and lanterns must be filled at the parking lot.

Someone must be present in the campsite while fires are burning. In case of a fire, assemble those in your area, and give them specific instructions for putting out the fire. Immediately alert Camporee headquarters and Texas Motor Speedway security (even if the fire is successfully doused).

Food Preparation
Keep meals simple; Saturday's schedule will be busy. One-pot or aluminum foil meals are suggested to
minimize clean-up time and to conserve water.

Water
A water supply source is available on-site; however, units should bring as much water in containers as
possible.

Activities and campsites will be spread across Texas Motor Speedway's vast acreage. Scouts should be encouraged to carry canteens or water bottles throughout the day.
