Steele Island Wakeboarding

Spend a Week Learning to Wakeboard

The Steele Island Wakeboarding Program was developed by expert wakeboarders, all Eagle Scouts from Weatherford and Jacksboro in the Longhorn Council. It’s a wakeboard and ski program for older Scouts, Venturers, and adults on beautiful Lake Bridgeport at Sid Richardson Scout Ranch (SR2). The program focuses on developing your wakeboarding and skiing skills, and teaching Watersports Merit Badge.

We have the best wind-protected skiing and boarding water in the state. You’ll report to our marina every morning at first light and wakeboard and ski until lunch. Afternoons are free for merit badges in the main camp area, or swimming or blobbing … or sleep.

You’ll report back again for the evening program right after supper and ride until dark. Expect to crash a lot, but you’ll be amazed to see how significantly your skills will improve throughout the week. You’ll also do Tubing with us.
