Winter Camp Registration Form
Spend a week as a U.S. Cavalry soldier on the Texas frontier in 1872. You'll learn by living at winter camp's Cavalry program. You wear the uniform, learn the drills, eat the food, and live the life of a trooper in the year 1872. You will learn the history of the Southern Plains War of 1872-74. The last night of camp will be spent at historic Fort Richardson, home of the U.S. Cavalry in the 1870's.
Report to the Front Ranger's House at Sid Richardson Scout Ranch on December 26th between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. During the week you will drill, patrol, and fight battles against a band of bandits and Comancheros. The week will climax with a large battle against local Civil War reenactment groups. Following the battle, will report to Fort Richardson, tour the historic fort, and sleep in the barracks. On Wednesday, December 31st, you will be mustered out of the army on the parade ground at Fort Richardson. Click here for
