Texas High Adventure Base and Longhorn Council Camps

Longhorn Council Camps and the Texas High Adventure Base have many unique and outstanding programs designed to provide youth and adults alike a memorable Scouting adventure. Worth Ranch, Sid Richardson Scout Ranch, and Camp Tahuaya host our BSA high adventure programs and offer traditional Scout camp programs for Boy Scouts.

Chisholm Trail is a backpacking program where you use pontoon boats instead of boots to move your pack and gear. A unique High Adventure - there are no programs like it. You get a pontoon boat for a week to travel to the high adventure outposts and watersports bases on our 16 miles of Lake Bridgeport shoreline! Chisholm Trail Adventure IS Texas High Adventure - an unforgettable program experience for older youth and adults. We offer something for everyone.

A Texas-size Boy Scout camp with Texas-sized high adventure programs, lots of history, and a new air-conditioned dining hall. 3,000 acres of scenic cliffs, open prairie, heavy forests, and 19 miles of rugged shoreline on Lake Bridgeport. The historic 1870's U.S. Cavalry outpost site is a centerpiece of our Chisholm Trail High Adventure - one of BSA's finest High Adventure Programs.

CAMP TAHUAYA

A small, beautiful, heavily-wooded camp with the largest natural spring in Texas. Everything at Tahuaya is within easy walking distance. The Shanklin mill, millrace ruins, and Old Military Road are historic landmarks. Tahuaya has a new pool and showerhouse, and the lake has been deepened to improve fish habitat.

VENTURING HIGH ADVENTURE and RANGER CAMP


The Texas High Adventure Base is an outstanding destination for Venturing summer programs! Venture Crews can choose from two week-long  high adventure trek options and also the Road to Ranger camp to work on the Venturing Ranger Award requirements. Reserve by December 31 and get $10 off.
